We had a blast exploring the beautiful Yates Mill! It's located really close to downtown Raleigh so it's a great, central location. The mill is said to have been built around 1756, but is in GREAT condition! It was once used for corn, wool, lumber, and wheat. Today, it's a wonderful historic park consisting of 174 acres of pure, natural beauty. You can see the big wheel turning as water spills over the ledge onto the rocks below. Tours are offered to learn more and see inside. It's also got a great little walk around the water. Located at 4620 Lake Wheeler Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603 and open daily from 8:30-5. Huge plus: it's free to wander around! If you love spending time in nature, feeling the mist of rushing water on your face, and taking pleasant walks on winding dirt paths, this place is for YOU!
